Christos Massalas has been selected by the 69th Locarno Film Festival as one of the 15 most promising young directors from around the world for the festival’s Filmmakers Academy. The festival will screen his latest short film “Flowers and Bottoms”, which premiered at the 46th Tampere Film Festival and is continuing a highly successful festival run (BFI, Paris, Madrid, Toronto, Montreal, Sao Paulo and more).
Christos Massalas was born in 1986. He studied film theory at Kingston University and Filmmaking at the London Film School (LFS). He has directed shorts films, commercials and music videos. His films have screened around the world and have received prizes. He has been granted Artist Residencies in Norway and Serbia.
He is currently in development of his debut feature “Broadway” in Athens.
“Flowers and Bottoms” will be screened on Wednesday 10th of August, at 7pm at the Rialto 3.
