Lidija (Jasna Đuričić) is a cold-hearted business woman working for a construction investor of dubious morals. Lidija’s main task is to oversee the work of the illegal workers working on the construction site and protect the image of the company at all costs. In the meantime, the workers are brought face to face with the brutal reality of capitalism. Unpaid and exhausted, they have to take their fate in their own hands. When they decide to rebel and stand up for their rights, the construction site will become the setting, where social classes and morals clash.
Five years in the making, WORKING CLASS HEROES, starring EFA winner (for QUO VADIS AIDA?), Jasna Đuričić, exposes relentless corruption, capitalism and injustice in a game of “big fish eats small fish”.

“Featuring another incendiary performance by Jasna Djuricic, whose role in Jasmila Zbanic’s Quo Vadis Aida? garnered her an EFA Best Actress award, it’s a strange, loose-limbed film that veers across genres and tonal registers before suddenly rooting its audience to their seats in a tense finale” Screendaily
“eerily universal” ICS
“Milos Pusic’s dark workplace dramedy intriguingly captures the rampant corruption tearing apart Serbia’s executive and blue-collar classes” The Film Verdict
“an angry, punk statement with a social drama-cum-dark comedy-thriller that taps into the poetics of Želimir Žilnik but is its own, uncompromising beast” Cineuropa
