MOST PEOPLE DIE ON SUNDAYS

By Iair Said

Synopsis

David, a 30something boy, overweight, homosexual and with a grappling fear of flying, regretfully returns to his native Argentina to attend his uncles’ funeral. There he will reconnect with his mother and his Jewish family, while embarking on a quest across Buenos Aires to quench his anxiety via driving lessons, cheap healthcare and trying to sleep with any man that shows him a little attention.

“Said Squeezes Magic Out of Melancholy”

“In this world, for these people, death ends up feeling
like its own significant Sunday kind of love.”

Ioncinema

“A burlesque and touching story about the difficulty of being an adult.”

“With intelligent writing and without anything superfluous,
[Said] describes universal relationships with complex roots,
a family life without warmth but not without affection.
The lovely ending scene between David
and his mother is the perfect example.”

Le Bleu du Miroir

“Most People Die On Sundays is a testament to Said’s ever-expanding list of talents.”
“Those who do see this unassuming but finely crafted little film
will undoubtedly be surprised by its clever approach to a delicate subject,”
